Staging/Background AV Requirements

Logistics, AV Requirements, and Audience Setup

We take our responsibility to your and your audience very seriously. We want to maximize your investment. We’ve found the following points assist in providing the best program.

AV Requirements

• Wireless lavaliere microphone.
• PC Projection capability. While the audience is gathering, a PowerPoint slide show of quotes to prepare the mind set of the audience. A short DVD movie is played immediately following the introduction. Jim’s slides during the actual speech consist mainly of beautiful pictures to help make the points and to serve as a visual break. Boring, word laden slides are not appropriate for the Personal Brilliance presentation.

Audience Setup

• If the room is rectangular, the stage should be setup on one of the longer walls rather than one of the shorter walls.
• Chevron style seating is preferable to straight line seating to provide the easiest viewing angles for the audience.
• It is preferable to have two aisles on either side of a center audience section rather than a big center aisle.
• Photographs should be taken only after the first 15 minutes of the presentation to minimize audience distraction.

Some quick tips:

• The closer the audience is to each other and to the speaker, the better the chance for rapport.
• Meals should be completed prior to beginning the speech introduction if at all possible.
• Lighting should be adjusted to maximize the audience view of the screen. Because facial expressions are so integral to the presentation, the speaker should be well lit as well.

Handouts

It also includes the password to an Audience Members Only area of this web site that includes special features available only to audience members.

Additionally, Jim asks the audience to complete a card answering the following questions:

• What is the most useful idea you generated as a result of this session?
• What ideas will you most likely share with friends or co-workers after this session?
• The collated responses are then emailed to audience members who would like to receive them.

Jim describes the use of a Personal Brilliance Notebook in the speech. A single page of the formatted notebook page is used by audience members during the speech to get them started.

Recording

Video recording of the presentation can be licensed for 50% of the speaker fee. It is important that we are aware of your taping needs prior to arriving at the event.

Staging

If your stage area can accommodate a custom background one is available for the Personal Brilliance presentation that provides a colorful backdrop and highlights the main segments of the speech visually.

The dimensions of the background are 24 feet wide by 10 feet high.
